Where does Orange Kenya's ad jingle come from?

So you have heard the Orange Kenya adverts, yes, the radio adverts, or the television adverts with the tag line "Today changes with Orange".

There's the fast-moving jingle that comes with adverts. Guess where that comes from?

I was listening to this mix on Mixcrate titled "The Wedding Mix" when I heard the Orange jingle fade in at the end of Journey's "don't stop believing". Behold, it's a whole song!

It appears the French have a particular liking for the song (Orange Kenya is owned by FranceTelecom, who will soon rename to Orange :-) ). Wikipedia reports that Nicholas Sakorzy's party used the song for elections campaign, offering the band 1 Euro as payment. They subsequently sued and got 30,000 euros(KSh. 3.4 million) in settlement.

The song also features in the FIFA09 video game, in the movie Stranger than fiction , the first episode of The Vampire Diaries, Season 2 of Gossip Girl and on The Real Hustle. Nokia also used the track to launch the Nokia N8. Clearly, it's a popular track.

Its a song by MGMT. You may have heard of them, they featured in Kid Cudi's Pursuit of happiness.

Eastleigh, the Shopping District of Nairobi

It reached a point where I was getting envious, envious of the Nairobi beggars , the ones who are disabled, mostly amputees. I was not envious of their begging, but more of their begging while dressed in pretty cool garments, more so designer jeans. You see, you cannot beg in designer jeans and expect people to listen to your plight when they are dressed in garments that are almost wearing thin. So after been approached by several beggars who I felt were better dressed than I was, I decided that it was time to upgrade my wardrobe.
